Biography and Current Research Activities
Claudiu received his Ph.D. in 2011 at the Politehnica University of Bucharest, Computer Science faculty and the thesis was entitled “The Analysis of Implicit Opinions in Economic Texts and Relations between Them”. He also spent three months at the Lyon 2 University working on evaluating topic models.
He is working as an associate researcher. Current research is focused on opinion mining and the applications of sentiment extraction within social network analysis and recommender systems. He is paying special attention to aspect-based opinion mining and the way topics and fine grained opinions can be built and improved using semantics and human computation.
Other interests include applications of text and opinion mining in social sciences, particularly in Economics.
