The Human Computer Interaction Group is proud to be the local organiser of the 2nd International ACM Recommender Systems Conference that took place 23-25 October at EPFL.
As the Web grows, finding information is increasingly more challenging. Recommender systems are emerging Web-based technologies, setting the standards for discovery and personalization in today’s social networking-dominated web 2.0 environment. With 200 international participants, the Recommender Systems’ conference will showcase the state-of-the-art in recommenders: new filtering techniques, performance enhancers, challenges and revolutionary interfaces. In addition, an industry panel will present the major recommender applications in industry and a $100’000 award will be presented to the winner of a contest for startup companies in the field. This premier annual event on research and applications of recommender technologies is co-organised by EPFL’s Human Computer Interaction Group.
